TRANSPORTATION
Do I need to rent a car?
If you would like the convenience and autonomy a car provides you for traveling long distances or off the island, it may be a good idea.  Otherwise, a beach trolley and a variety of taxi services are available for you should you wish to take a short day trip off the island or travel to and from the airport (18.6 miles away).  The Edison Beach House is located within walking distance to Fort Myers Beach’s “Times Square” area which offers a variety of options for dining, shopping, and beach recreation.

Do you have parking on site?
Yes. Parking is provided for our guests. You are allowed one parking space per Suite. Visitors of the Edison Beach House guests must park off the premises. Larger vehicles, trailers, etc. must be parked in one of our beach public paid parking lots, which are available nearby.
SUITE INFORMATION
Do you have Non-Smoking Suites?
All of our Suites are non-smoking. You may smoke on the lanai of your suite or on the Edison Beach House grounds as long as it does not disturb another guest. Please be considerate to other guests and dispose of cigarette buttsappropriately.Cigar and pipe smoking are NOT ALLOWED anywhere on EBH grounds.
Do you allow pets?
As adorable as they are, no.
Are you directly on the beach?
Yes. We are located directly on Fort Myers Beach. The guests can walk directly onto the beach from the pool area.
What size are the beds?
All Suites have Queen size beds except Suite F which has a King. Suites C have an additional Twin size bed & Suites G has 2 Twin size beds in one of the bedrooms.
What size is the TV & how many channels are available?
The living area has a 47”HD TV with approximately 60 channels. Suites with bedrooms also have a regular 25” TV.
How many bathrooms do the Suites have?
All Suites have one bathroom with a ceiling fan which truly exhausts to the outside rather than circulates air internally.  This is to ensure our guests’ Suites always remain free of  unpleasant odors.
Is there a tub or shower stall in the bathroom?
Suites A, B, C, D & E have a shower stall. Suites F & G have a tub & shower except 304F where we provide a larger shower stall with easier access for our guests with disabilities.
Do the Suites have a kitchen?
Yes. All Suites have a fully equipped General Electric® kitchen.  Each kitchen includes a glass top range with a full size oven, microwave, dishwasher, full size refrigerator with ice maker, several small appliances. Everything you would need for your home away from home.
Do the Suites have laundry facilities?
Yes. All Suites have a stacked washer & dryer located in the bathroom. Laundry detergent is provided for your convenience.
What is the footage of the suites?
The average square footage of our Suites range from 560 sq. ft. up to 775 sq. ft. for the two bedroom suite.
What type of views do the Suites have?
All the suites have a view of the Gulf of Mexico. Suites A, B & C have a view toward the fishing pier, Suites D & E are full front of the Gulf of Mexico, and Suites F & G have a view toward Sanibel Island.
Are the balconies screened in?
No, screens are not needed and we feel this would obstruct the beautiful natural views awaiting you.
Are visitors allowed?
Guests are allowed to have visitors equal to the number of guests allowed in their Suite. However visitors must park in the public pay parking lots and may not stay overnight.
Do you provide cribs, highchairs, air mattress etc?
Absolutely, and they are complementary for our guests.
Do you have daily maid service?
Yes, and this is provided for our guests at no extra charge.
RESTAURANT & ENTERTAINMENT
Do you have a restaurant and/or bar on site?
No. But many guests prefer to prepare some of their meals in the comfort of their Suite where we provide complete GE kitchens including a glass top range and a dishwasher (please see above).
Are restaurants and bars nearby?
Yes. Time Square is 600 feet from the EBH property. A variety of restaurants also have entertainment.
Is there a grocery store nearby?
Yes. We have a 7/eleven convenience store right across the street and a Publix approximately 3 miles south on the island
RESERVATION & CHECK-IN POLICY
Do you have any special rates such as: AARP, AAA, etc?
No. Our rates are very competitive without discounts.
Do you have a special rate for a month or longer stay?
No. Our rates are nightly. You may reserve as many nights as long as we have them available.
How much deposit is required?
One night’s deposit plus tax if you are reserving 1 night, and 2 night’s deposit for 2 nights or more.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you cancel your reservation up to 2 weeks prior to check-in date, you will be provided a full refund.  If you cancel up to 72 hours prior to check in date, you will be charged a $25 service charge. If you cancel your reservation less than 72 hours prior to check out you will forfeit one night’s deposit.
When is the balance due?
At the time of check-in.
What form of payment do you prefer?
We accept American Express®, Discover®, MasterCard®, and Visa®.  Cash is acceptable for payment, but a valid credit card must be on file with your reservation.
Am I guaranteed to get the Suite I reserve?
You choose your Suite when making a reservation and are guaranteed that Suite upon your arrival.
If I choose to move to another Suite, how does that work?
If another Suite of your choice becomes available, we will be happy to accommodate your preferences. You do not have to move out of your present Suite until the new Suite is meticulously cleaned. We will call you when it is ready and we give you new keys and a new parking pass
What time is check-in and check-out?  if I arrive early and the Suite is not ready, where do I put luggage?  Can I go ahead and park in lot?
Check-in is at 3pm unless the Suite is ready earlier.  Check-out is at 11am. If you arrive before 3pm and your Suite is not ready, you may park and put your luggage in the main office or leave it in your car. Clean poolside restrooms are available for changing into your beachwear so you may begin your vacation as soon as you arrive. Beach towels are provided at no charge. These services are also available at checkout time if our guests have a late flight.
What are your office hours?
Our office hours are 9am to 9pm daily.
What if I arrive after hours?
Late arrivals must inform the office before 9PM. Your key and a temporary parking pass will be placed in a white bag (with only your name on it) containing soap, coffee, etc. The white bag will be placed in a night box located at the entrance door. Guests must know and remember their Suite number. We don’t put it in or on the white bag for safety purposes.
REGISTERED GUEST INFORMATION
How deep is your pool?   Is it heated?
The maximum depth of our fresh water pool is 5½ feet and is heated to 84º Fahrenheit.
Do you have a hot tub?
No.
Do you have barbeques?
Yes we have two barbeque grills and three picnic tables all on the beach.

Where can I fish?  Do I need a fishing license?
You may fish off the pier and no license is required. Charter boats are also available nearby.
Is there a golf course nearby?
There are about 100 golf courses in the tri-county area. Go to our website at www.edisonbeachhouse.com under the ‘Golf’ section for more information, including a map.
GUEST SERVICES
Do you have an ice machine, soda machine, etc?
There is a 7/eleven across the street which sells soda, alcoholic beverages, snacks and a variety of fresh and frozen foods.
Do you have a newspaper machine?
There is no need for a newspaper machine because we provide a daily USA Today on weekdays and a local newspaper daily including Sunday.
Does your resort have wireless internet service?
Yes, and it is complimentary.
What type of locks do your Suites have and what about security?
We have card key locks.
Do you have a fax machine for guests use?
Yes.  You may receive or send up to 5 pages at no extra charge. A small charge applies to more copies.
Please tell me about your blankets and bedspreads.
Our blankets, white bedspreads and all linens are washed after every check-out.
Do you supply beach towels?
Beach towels are provided daily when your Suite is cleaned by our housekeepers.
SAFETY & SECURITY
Please tell me about the safety and security system the EBH provides it’s guests.

Fort Myers Beach is a very safe area that tourists have enjoyed for generations.  However, to ensure the safety of our guests, we provide security features to ensure a pleasant stay.  After 9pm, the entrance to the EBH lobby is accessible only by the card-key provided to our guests and our outside stairwells are locked at dusk.  Video monitors are located on every floor and the parking lot is well lit all night long.  In the door to every Suite we’ve installed two separate peep-holes to look out: one for our taller guests and one for our shorter guests, including children. 

A designated EBH Innkeeper is available on EBH grounds 24 hours a day, seven days a week to assist you for any need or emergency that may arise.

Please tell me about fire safety ratings of the EBH.
EBH is equipped with the following:
A. State of the art fire sprinkler system.
B. Smoke alarms in every Suite.
C. Emergency hall lighting.

The entire building has a minimum of a one hour fire rating. The stairwells have a two hour fire rating. Simplex International remotely monitors our fire alarm system twenty four hours a day, and we meet all federal regulated smoked standards for drapes, carpet and upholstery.
